Questions families ask about FeatherKeep
What help can we arrange at home?
Companionship, meal preparation, light household help, respite and memory support can be combined with assessed personal care. Support follows your agreed Care Plan; diagnosis, treatment and medication administration remain with healthcare professionals.
How do we get started?
Call our local care team or request a call back. We talk through your needs, arrange assessment and review suitable local options. Any assessment booking request is followed by a conversation to arrange a time; it is not a confirmed appointment.
How do you choose a care worker?
We consider your support needs, preferences and routines alongside worker eligibility and availability. Familiarity and continuity are considered when coordinating ongoing visits.
Can private care sit alongside public home support?
Private-pay support can add practical help around your existing routines. FeatherKeep is independent of Fraser Health and Island Health; public eligibility and funding decisions remain with the health authority.
What if our needs change?
Tell our care team so we can review the support and schedule with you. Changes and cancellations are reviewed under your agreed service arrangement; please give at least 24 hours’ notice.
Care workers are currently available in Surrey/South Surrey, White Rock, Victoria, Nanaimo and Comox. Requests in Langley and other Island communities are assessed for a suitable local worker match. Comox availability does not mean workers are available throughout Comox Valley. Support, schedule and price are confirmed before care begins. FeatherKeep is an independent private-pay provider; clinical care remains with your healthcare team.
